Prayer Letter December 2019

Messages by Pastor Isaac Peter Oyako Posted on December 12, 2019 by Isaac Peter OkayoMarch 14, 2021

Dear prayer Partners,

Greetings in Jesus name!
God is doing new and amazing things in our ministry since my recovery from illness. The enemy thought he would cripple God’s work by weakening me physically. More and more doors are opening, not only in Uganda, but beyond.

Yesterday I returned from Kenya where I spoke to 1,400 youths, accompanied with a mighty out pouring of the Holy Spirit. I am running end time series in 2 churches and tomorrow am driving another 3 hours to Tororo town, to talk to about 100 couples. After that, from the 15th to Christmas Eve, I will be running ministry in both Uganda and Kenya.

From 4th January 2020, I will officiate at a wedding in Mbale town. Then, hopefully, my wife and I will fly to South Africa for about 7 days; pray for our visas. One of the pastors was denied a visa to South Africa 2 weeks back.

Basically we need your prayer for my health. Medication is becoming more expensive and I am struggling financially to keep up with medication. We will also need your prayer support for financial provision. Our house now has an extra 12 girls whom we support in various universities and secondary schools. Together with my own children, the number is simply overwhelming. We need sufficient support for groceries, utility bills etc.

And above all, I need 300 US$ before Friday, the 13th of December. I have over 300 guests in my house in Jinja on that day. The girl we supported from senior two to University, Vastine Arinaitwe, (presently our bookkeeper) is getting married that day. I was given permission by her heavily impoverished relatives to give her away in marriage, and will take place in my house in Jinja.

This is the fourth girl in this year, 2019, to complete her university education, graduate, get a job, and get a Godly husband, who takes from their home and church. It is a great honor to God and our ministry as well.

We also have 5 desperate children who need sponsors from January 2020. Pray with us, and if you anyone who might want to assist we shall be very grateful.

Thank you

The 2013 Vision Coming to Pass in 2019

Messages by Pastor Isaac Peter Oyako Posted on February 20, 2019 by Isaac Peter OkayoFebruary 20, 2019

Dear friends and prayer partners,

Greetings and welcome to year 2019!

Some time in April 2013, at exactly 5:00 am, the Lord Jesus Christ appeared to me very clearly in a vision, not a dream as I was seated outside the main house, praying: I was approaching a long gate opening to a well-secured to something, I assumed was a building. The gate and the perimeter wall were high so I could not see any buildings behind the gate. There was a well paved road divided into 6 well marked lanes leading to that closed gate. On the right hand side of the gate stood a watchman who turned out to be the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

As I approached the gate, I did not follow a particular lane but crossed from lane to lane. The watchman, or gate-keeper, who turned out to be the Lord, reprimanded me for crisscrossing lanes without sticking to one lane. He opened the gate, and to my surprise, the was no building but narrow bushy foot path overgrown with grass and roaring river beneath. It was unstable bridge path. Bellow the foot path was mighty rushing river water too dangerous for life.As I took each step , the path shook threatening to be collapsing into mighty rushing waters beneath.

I was scared stiff, but the gate keeper led the way, walking confidently. When He noticed fear in me, He simply advised me not to look on the sides or focus on the scary sight and sound of rushing water beneath, but straight on him. The destination seem very far off, the road had hills and valley sand meandered left and right.

It was last year, 2018, when I clearly understood that this meant that the going was getting rougher and turbulent in ministry. It is also the year that I felt the Lord wanted me to do only what He wanted me to do, not other many nice things around me. It was the year that we realized a profound impact in the lives of university and tertiary institutions students. Our Single lane (Mandate) is teach the body of Christ and prepare them for the rapture. A standard of holiness depicting a saint; a candidate for a meeting with the Lord Jesus Christ in the skies is the ultimate goal of our mission.

It is a very unpopular gospel: People are comfortable with prosperity, healing and anything else, but not repentance. Both inside and outside the church the message of repentance is not palatable to the ears. The enemy has equally responded by trying to block this. There is no year, apart from 2018, when we lost three sponsors, creating a huge administrative shortfall. I do not remember ever taking a car out on mission with insufficient gas and funds only to run out of power at 1:00 am, and sleeping on road side, apart from 2018. There is no year when any of my children stayed out of school because of lac of fees, apart from last year, 2018, when our fourth child, Caleb, stayed home and he is still at home. The enemy has often tried to divert my attention outside the main course, but I remember the the vision.

This afternoon I will be speaking in the biggest Nursing School in Jinja about the ” Grace,” and “Christian responsibility.” This is the most contentious issue right now here. People, especially the youth, believe the dispensation of Grace gives them the liberty to indulge in reckless living.

We have a tight program up to June 5th, covering over 10 districts of Uganda. We going to various churches, universities and tertiary institutions. So pray with us for sound health, protection from accidents, and provision for gas and car maintenance.

Also, pray for my son to go to school as soon as possible. He needs one off USD 2,000 for PPL (Private Pilot License) in Nairobi, Kenya. The rest are minor and we can handle as a family.

Thank you very much, we have often remembered every one in this list. We now have special missions account for travel, car maintenance, and sometimes support for poor young children we meet in churches. Any contribution is welcome as the Lord leads. Support can be wired directly, or sent through the WorldRemit agency.

In your prayers, include 8 girls who need sponsors. Support for needy girl children is one of our mandates from the Lord

Dear Friends and Prayer Partners
Wonderful greetings in Jesus name!

We feel indebted to you, owing you a lot of gratitude for your encouragement, prayer and also financial support.

It is long since we gave a general update of our work as well as ministry. A lot is happening and we cannot cover it all here: We can only give the major and outstanding occurrences.

Ministry Work

We are moving on effectively with church visits, holding conferences and seminars with leaders, women, youth and general church meetings. This year, we have worked mainly in central Uganda. I am involved also in counseling almost daily with appointments coming from all over the nation. We were able to visits churches in Masindi, in the area west of the River Nile, and ventured to Western Uganda in the previous quarter. We have ministry lined up for May in Kaberamaido, Soroti, Amuria and Tororo covering close to 20 churches.

It has always been our prayer to centralize training in our base in Soroti, but our facility is not fully ready for that. We need your prayer support in this area.

Car Update

We had a big challenge with the vehicle, but this is now history. We had to replace the entire engine – now it runs perfectly.

Girls Needing Sponsors

We have three new girls who got sponsorships recently. We thank God for that! Also, you, for praying with us.

This is an area that gives me heartache the most, yet I cannot run away from it. Read the Whole Newsletter

Thank You – Report on November Ministry

Messages by Pastor Isaac Peter Oyako Posted on December 4, 2016 by Isaac Peter OkayoMarch 2, 2017

by Rev. Isaac Peter Okayo

Dear Prayer Partner,

I owe you many thanks for your support. I am happy to report that I am now back home safely, after two intensive weeks of service in central Africa.

It is no doubt that God is sending me to this region at this time, most especially to Burundi. I have deep love and burden for Burundi. Burundi is one of the poorest countries of the World, with protracted tribal conflicts. but close to my heart.

Isaac travels to Burundi and Congo.

I do not know exactly what God wants to accomplish through me in Burundi, but for now, I am running formal Bible Training in the capital City Bujumbura. I have a little more than two dozen in number who are eager to learn and make adjustments in their lives and ministries (Discipleship). I have successfully completed two course units; Doctrines of Redemption and the Church. I have tailored the course to accommodate people with little secular education, yet active in ministry.

In the first visit, my host made a wrong choice of the Hotel to accommodate me. This second time, I was placed in Anglican Community Center Guest House in the center of Bujumbura City. It is separated by fence from the President’s office on the East, and on the South, across the Street of the French Embassy. It is costly, but safety is paramount.

Burundi Bumps and Blessings

3rd Quarter Report – 2016 – by Pastor Isaac Peter Oyako

Dear friends and payer partners,
Special greetings in the wonderful name our Lord Jesus Christ!

the blessing of a Bible class of 27 students

I am now enjoying a much deserved rest at home after a successful mission trip to Burundi, bumps and blessings, both experienced there. where a Bible School is fully initiated.

On my way to Bujumbura, the capital city of Burundi, close fiends had requested that I do some work for them in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda.

I had also two trips to Kenya; Bungoma and Migori; where I spoke in a National Women’s Conference, and general regional meeting respectively. In Migori, I had the privilege to be accompanied by my wife, Christine.

students with certificates closing a successful teaching trip

You are all acquainted with the difficulties we had been going through; the difficulties of frequent accidents, financial hardships, persecutions etc. These were for a purpose, and I can now say as king David said, “It is good that I was afflicted that I may learn your Statutes.” (Psalms 119:71). Through these difficult times, we learned to rely on God, learned the value of human relation-ships and sought wisdom and discernment in all situations. These have been so helpful to me of late.

It is not safe in Burundi, as they say, “life is cheap in Burundi.” However, God kept me safe, and He will always do so. To appreciate God’s protections I would like to narrate one incident and also give you the security background of Burundi.

The first few hours was scary for me: Five minutes after checking into my hotel room, two gun men forced their way into my room, demanding for my pass-port and reasons as to why I was in Burundi. They ransacked my baggage and . . .

God’s Protection in Travel

Messages by Pastor Isaac Peter Oyako Posted on September 18, 2016 by Isaac Peter OkayoSeptember 18, 2016

Today I am celebrating God’s goodness in the protection He gave my wife this past Tuesday. It was a near-deadly road accident again.

We had just returned from wonderful ministry abroad. We were in Kenya with Maranatha Faith Assemblies Church in Migori-Kenya doing ministry together. This is a rare opportunity because my wife is an employee of the Government of Uganda under the ministry of Tourism. She is the Principal Instructor in the Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in charge Academic and administration.

We had hardly rested before she saw me off for another seminar with Eagles Wings Church International Mbale.

I was just about to be picked for session from Hotel Eldima where I was residing, whem my phone rang. The call was from a good Samaritan named Topista. She notified me that my wife was involved in a road accident involving two motorcycle taxis, popularly known here as Boda Bodas. I was disrupted but calm.

I called my wife’s boss who rushed to the scene, picked her up and rushed her to a hospital. A number of scans were conducted and there no serious effects apart from the knee cap. She is unable to walk and is having a bed rest at home.

The Boda Boda cyclists collided in the middle of the highway causing her to fall off. Thank God the motorist following them was at a considerable distance and was able to stop in time. Otherwise, it would have been a disaster. We thank God for His grace!

We do not have a vehicle now, yet we need one urgently. Last year in August, I crashed in my Toyota Coarsa when I was hit from behind. I sold that vehicle for almost scrap.< ?p>

Two months ago, my Suzuki Escudo suffered a shot circuit and the engine was partly gutted by fire.

It has been tough time for me without a vehicle: It is dangerous and expensive especially when it comes to special hires while taking children to school. However, the Suzuki was taken to Kampala to specialist in Suzuki Engines. He has able to identify the problem. The total repairs, including wiring, panel beating and spaying in UGX, 3,000,000 (USD890) or GBP650). I know the mechanic and a principled Christian who is able to do a good job in the car

Please, pray with us for that provision as we need the car for ministry and domestic purposes.

I will away from tomorrow, First in Kampala, then Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. I am trying to set up a basic Bible and Ministry training program for church leaders in Burundi and DR Congo. I need your prayer support – for safety mainly.

I will be done with the international commitments on 3rd October 2017. God has already provided the fare I need. My prayer is for the repair of the vehicle.

Thank you,
Isaac Peter Oyako

July 2016 News-Report

Messages by Pastor Isaac Peter Oyako Posted on July 31, 2016 by Isaac Peter OkayoJuly 31, 2016

Revival Time Ministry, Uganda

Dearly Beloved Readers and Partners,

It is important to us that we update every one who is close to us and has shown interest in the work that we are doing. This provides knowledge for prayer basis for us and ministry in this location. Note: not necessarily to solicit help. We are delighted and honored when help comes as a result of God moving some one.

I had been reading, and even teaching, about Jesus feeding five thousand men (close to twelve thousand people in total) in Chapter fourteen in the book of Mathew, without practically understanding the emotional and compassionate background of the story. He was not doing this to demonstrate His divine capacity, but moved by His love and compassion for mankind – His very mission on earth. People who love Christ Jesus, share His emotion towards the suffering people who are the image of God.

I was speaking in a general church seminar in Kaberamaido, my home district, and recently and came face to face with a devastating famine among people. Several people had survived on wild fruits and roots for weeks. There was a moving story of how an old man, about 72, had a scuffle with a wild monkey over a mango fruit. He got bitten and badly injured. He had got a fruit, but a monkey jumped on him, bit him, and ran a way with the fruit.

Famine is widespread in the Teso Sub region due to double crop failure, due to EL-NINO, and prolonged drought. News on radio, television, and newspapers talk of people dying of famine, especially in Amuria district. There is no immediate hope till perhaps at the end of September.

I was in a teaching seminar, but was moved so much when people looked frail and weak due to hunger. They had not had a good meal for months. I felt I could even sell myself to help. I told the people go pick up their cups and plates so that they could eat food I provided. I was overwhelmed by compassion for the suffering people. I provided breakfast made of porridge and boiled mutton, and Posho, to about 100 people, on average for three days. At the start there were less, but the number kept increasing. I know some were coming just to eat something. If I had prolonged the seminar, the whole village would have come to the seminar.

God had just blessed me with consultancy service, . . . [to read whole report click to open or download: July-2016-News-Report.]

First Quarter Report – 2016 – by Pastor Isaac Peter Oyako

Messages by Pastor Isaac Peter Oyako Posted on April 10, 2016 by Isaac Peter OkayoApril 10, 2016

I’m excited to share this first quarter report for 2016. A lot of wonderful ministry opportunities came our way during these three months. Please read my First-Quarter-Report-2016 for all the details.

After you have absorbed all our victory after victory in our ministry just past, I seem to be hit by a backlash of trials. Just recently, I was stopped in the middle of the street with car trouble.

When the mechanic came, the car had moved some – by a miracle. But he assessed the repairs to cost me UGX 590,000, just to to able to get back on the road.

As I mentioned in the report, this coming week I have a mission to take care of, and am scheduled to go on a mission trip further a field the week after that.

I would plead for your constant prayer support. Well, financial too, if you are able and willing to help us out, God would be glad to use you that way.
