Strength and Joy Where God Dwells

I Chronicles 16:25-27 "For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy in his dwelling place."

Our God is an awesome God.! He is the one and only true God. All other gods are but idols, the craftsmanship of some human being. There is really a huge difference between one who can make the heavens (read: universe), and something that is made by a created human being here on earth.

A lot of people cower before God, for all they understand is that He is powerful enough to zap them with serious disasters if He should be displeased with them.

But when you and I are reading and searching in the Bible, we get to find passages like this, and discover these great, comforting aspects of the Almighty, One True God.

We learn that there is splendor and majesty in His presence, not a vague, dark, foreboding cloud that we cannot see into. Where God is, there is splendid bright light, and an aspect of royalty with awe.

Furthermore, if we can peek into Heaven here, God's dwelling place is full of strength and joy! Because Jesus said God's Spirit would dwell in us if we obey His commandments, it is possible to taste that strength and joy in our daily lives, right now!

Aren't you glad that where our God dwells, there is strength and joy?

PRAYER: O God, You are my Heavenly Father and You have adopted me, and just as Jesus said, You have placed Your Holy Spirit to abide in me, and help me to remember and to do Your will. By prayer I can come into Your Holy dwelling even now, and experience this strength and joy that is with You. Hallelujah! You make all my darkness and dread disappear! What a God You Are!
