What to Use for a Harp

Psalm 43:4-5 "Then will I go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the harp, O God, my God."

"Why are you cast down, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God."

David was a poet and a songwriter, and he could play a harp, but what about those of us who are not musical? Do we just stand back and watch while others worship God?

We can see it is important to worship God, in particular when we feel discouraged, depressed or disturbed inside. Today I won't argue about the value of worshiping the Lord God. The more we think about Him the more hope rises up in our minds and hearts that He will yet rescue us from this terrible time.

Today I'm asking, what shall I use to worship Him if I can't sing well and I don't know how to play any musical instrument, least of all a harp? Is music required gear?

On second thought, that's a moot point. My focus should be on the Lord God, and delighting in Him. He's the one that thrills me to pieces! If I worship Him with whatever I am or have, then God will be pleased. My method may turn out to be non-musical, but if I truly adore the Lord, joy and worship will ooze out of me.

Think about that for a few minutes! Does it work for you too?

PRAYER: Ah, Lord God, I would like to come praise You too, at Your altar, but what will I do for a harp? May I substitute my own instrument of practice for it? How about I praise You with the computer? Maybe the instrument of praise is not quite as important as that I first go to Your altar and focus on You, my joy and my delight. Then the praise will find a way out of me.
