Rejoicing in the Weepy Time Because...

Psalm 30:4-5 "Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Saints or believers and worshipers of God do have times in their lives when they sense that God is angry with them. The more we learn about how Great and Fantastic God is - how Holy and Majestic - it's no wonder that, with our sinful nature, we can displease Him.

But it is the anger of a loving, yet stern parent who wants to teach the child to avoid evil and do good. Thus it is not a permanent anger. When we repent and desire to please Him again and show a change of heart about our willfulness, God's face beams on us again like the warm, blazing sun. He wants to bless and favour us all our lives long.

And into eternity beyond our mortal life here!

True, we may feel disciplined and weep for a while as we go through a hard time, but let's keep in our minds, that such times are temporary. A sunny morning of joy and gladness is coming! We will be tremendously happy yet. With that in the back of our minds, we can have an undercurrent of joy even in our trials and sad times, because we know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we'll be rejoicing again soon.

In fact, what is to stop us from praising God now already - while we still have the weepy time - in the confidence that God has such wonderful joy in mind for us?

PRAYER: Awesome God, You do have a right, and it is good for us when You discipline us, but help us not to wallow in sadness. Help us to recognize Your great heart of love towards us. I want to let joy creep in and fill the cracks in my heart, so that at Yoursignal it may leap forth in full bloom. - Oh-h! I think it is doing that already! Right now! Thank You, Father-God!
