When Angels Shouted for Joy

Job 38:7 "....While the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?"

In this chapter God is giving Job a quiz - the purpose being to show Job that there is a lot he doesn't know about Him, and the world He created along with the human race. Through these questions God drops some hints about creation that we don't know from any other source.

From these questions just above this verse I learn that it was God who measured off the dimensions of the earth, set its footing, and laid its cornerstone. While He was doing this the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy.

Did you know that?

The stars in the skies were so impressed at God's creative work that they sang - not just alone, but together! And the angels watched and shouted for joy!

In my mind that makes the debate here on earth about creation versus evolution a joke. The elements of God's universe were glad witnesses, and they cheered and sang with delight while He made earth and the other planets, and all the creatures on earth, including Adam and Eve.

Have you and I ever really acknowledged that God is the Creator?

That's a first step. How about praising and adoring Him for the marvelous work of creation? Are we delighted enough to sing enthusiastic praises to Him as our own Creator?

I started last year to add to my prayer list a reminder to thank God for making me, as well as saving and sanctifying me. It has given me a new perspective of gratitude.

PRAYER: It would have been great to watch You do the awesome work of creation, oh God! I will take Your word for it and worship You as wholeheartedly as I can. It is wonderful to be alive!
