Watch to see the Deliverance of the Lord

2 Chronicles 20:27-28 Then, led by Jehoshaphat, all of the men of Judah and Jerusalem returned joyfully to Jerusalem, for the LORD had given them cause to rejoice over their enemies. They entered Jerusalem and went to the temple of the LORD with harps and lutes and trumpets.

You need to read the whole chapter to get the full impact of this. In summary, the countries of Moab and Amnon had come to make war on Israel. Jehoshaphat called the people together and led them in prayer, pleading God to help. He told them through a prophet to take their positions and watch to see how He, God, would deliver them. They should not be afraid.

Their armies got into formation and place, and Jehoshaphat quickly organized some choirs to keep praising God throughout the battle.

As they began to sing, God set ambushes against the enemy armies and totally destroyed the enemy camps! The Israelites sang and watched! Then they took three days to carry away the plunder left behind by the dead soldiers.

Is it any wonder then, that as they got back to Jerusalem the people all surged to the temple, singing lustily, and with all the musical instruments they could muster? They all knew this victory came from God, and they ought to praise and thank Him - in His temple.

Have you recently watched God deliver you from an enemy or an impossible situation? How much public praise have you given God for that?

Perhaps you are still at the point where you are surrounded and don't know what to do. Try praising and trusting the Lord to deal with it for you.

PRAYER: Lord, I know I have seen you deliver me, but how quickly I forget to thank You, and to trust You next time. I do believe You love me, and are well able to clean out my enemies for me. Help me to take my post and watch what You will do for me!
