Management Course details for Rural Pastors

In conjunction with SEEDCons, Revival Time Ministry shall run two schools in 2009. The first school will run from February to June while the second school is scheduled to run from July to November, 2009.

Each school shall have a maximum capacity of 25 students studying for only 10 days each month. Therefore a total of 50 days are enough to give basic administrative and management skills to a pastor or a church leader for effective stewardship of God’s resources.

The target groups are the rural pastors and church leaders with moderate formal education who have found themselves in positions of great stewardship. God demands good stewardship for human and financial resources, that He put at our disposal. The Course outline below meets this need.

The selection criteria is open for all eligible candidates and it is at “first come, first serve” principle with a demand driven approach; Application forms and Brochures shall be dispatched to district headquarters of major local churches in North and Eastern Uganda immediately after 27th December 2008.Completed applications shall be returned to Revival Time Ministry offices personally or by Post before 19th January or 23rd June 2009 for the first and second school respectively.

The coordinator will then shortlist the application for selection on 28th January 2009. The month of the first school shall run between 16th to 27th February 2009. The first month of the second school shall run between 13th and 25th July 2009.

The facilitation shall be undertaken by SEEDCons, an enterprise development consultancy firm in Soroti, with highly professional people in handling development training, enterprise development and technical advices on management, finance and human resources. However, Revival Time Ministry has maintained a high level of collaboration and consultation with SEEDCons to ensure that the course units incorporate the biblical truth. SEEDCons has a large portion of God fearing staff who have interacted with RTM on previous development and project management trainings for pastors.

The trainings will be conducted at an RTM training center and Revival Time Ministry has appointed Mr. Max Okama to coordinate the school. Max is a professional in Business (B. com). He has BA in Theology as well School of Discipleship Ministry (SDM Dec.1996) from Revival Time Ministry (December 1996).

The tuition fees is relatively higher for many rural pastors and church leaders to afford, Revival Time Ministry is therefore trying to obtain support in form of scholarships to help. It costs not less that USh.120,000 per student per month (UK £50 or US $80).This translates to Ush.600,000 (£250 or US $ 400) for the entire course. And in our case anything less than 17 students is not cost effective, yet a majority of people in the rural setting are living within the range of off Ush.3,000 (£1 or US $ 1.6) a day, raising fees to that amount of money is virtually an impossibility.

However, we encourage participants to make their own contribution either in cash or in kind .The largest scholarship we wish to provide is 80% and not 100%. Of ourse there are those who can meet 40% or even beyond. We shall encourage each of the students to make contribution to their maximum abilities.
