Esther Babirye

Esther Babirye - close up

Esther Babirye, 19, is praying for $500 to begin her University education. She is a total orphan who lost both parents because of the killer Aids disease. Esther's mother died much earlier than her father. After her mother's death, she had little to do in her father's home because the mother gave birth to her alone in a polygamous family and this left Esther with no close sister or brother. The other five wives would not look after her because they had their own children to care for. The father later also developed a hatred for this young girl. She was totally rejected by her own people and to her the world at this time seemed total hell.

After her father's rejection and denying her school fees at an early stage of her primary level, she was picked up by her grandmother who was a typical peasant in the village. This old lady tried her level best to push Esther up to primary five and after this class, she was unable to continue paying for her and unfortunately, Estherl had to stop studying. This is because the farming was Esther's source of school fees. She had to start looking after her old grandmother as her friends continued with their studies. This tortured Esther because she loved school and is brilliant girl.

After Esther had stayed home for one year, her dear grandmother, the only person she was every close to, passed away and life became hard for her. Her maternal aunt picked her up so as to have Esther help in her house work and farm work as her own children went to school. In her aunt's family she worked like a donkey and yet she was still very young for such a heavy work. She felt this was too much for her. She joined a Pentecostal church and got saved by the help of her best friend with whom she shared her problems.

When her aunt realized that she had got saved, Esther was automatically sent away from home. Esther chose the church to be her home and this is where she found a genuinely friendly person who took her back to school until she completed senor six. This person is not related to her at all. But as she was about to complete her final exams, the one who was looking after her was laid off from work. And because of this he could no longer support her. She was sent back in the village where Esther says there is no future at all.

Then Esther met one of our Revival Time Ministry members and requested this woman to pray with her for God to pave a way for fees provision. So here we are, putting out this appeal for someone to support Esther to begin her first year of university. Are you able to send us a gift of $500 to $600, specifically for Esther?
