- God's Protection

Last month's update was on how God has opened the doors of ministry to us to various churches and people, with unprecedented move of the Holy Spirit. We enjoy seeing people released from demons, interpersonal relationships mended and generally people getting transformed. We define "revival" as a state of living under full control of the word of God and being influenced by the Holy Spirit on day to day basis. This has nothing to do with emotional responses and noise as many falsely think revival is.

The goal of having church leaders, Christian women and Christian youth attain this state in the Body of Christ is a achievable only if there is a consistent effort to "discipleship". This is the heartbeat of Revival Time Ministry. Whatever we do in social and economic arena, it has ultimate bearing in "Discipleship" and "Revival."

Discipleship is costly in terms everything including travels, time and cash. From last year June, I cover hundreds of kilometers every month travelling to meet and talk to people; teaching and counseling them. Many times mediating and reconciling them. It is enormous work which gives me a purpose of living: I love it.

However, the risks are not few either. It is a battle that I must often be prepared for as a soldier of the Lord. Without any prior warning, I had an attack from the enemy on Saturday 25th of September. I had a very bad motor accident in Soroti. Though I lost an equivalent of USD $621 in repairs of the car and the motorcycle involved, and compensate the victims of the crash, we escaped without even a slight scratch. What was the most amazing was that the occupants of the motorcycle were examined in hospital and found to completely safe without any even minor injuries. This could not be compared with both, my vehicle and their motorcycle. After the impact, the bonnet (hood) cover flew off, the windscreen was blown into pieces. But both the grill and front bumper remained intact including the right hand head light and indicators.

I thank God that I used an older car. If I had used a new car, it would be costly in terms of repairs. The new car has a bigger engine and more expensive via fuel. The older car has small engine (1331 c.c) and less costly in terms of fuel.

After my wife and I had a wonderful time with Ms Maria Hersa, and two other ladies from Sweden, I proceeded to Soroti with Sylvia. Sylvia was heading to Wera and Abarilela in Amuria where we have Literacy and Micro-credit; I turned westwards to Otuboi where I had a teaching session with Faith Mission church, before Rev. Silas joined me for the Youth Ministry the following day.

Just after getting Sylvia off to board public transport, and in the process of turning the car round to go and meet Rev. Silas, there was suddenly a big crash: I was involved in head on collusion with a motorcyclist!

He was moving at a speed probably above 80Kms per hour. He did not have headlight on.Nor did his passenger and he have the protective helmets. I swung the car to make a quick U-turn only to be hit by a speeding and loaded motorcycle. The passenger crashed through the windscreen directly to where Sylvia had been seated less than one and half minutes back. (If Sylvia or Silas had been in the car, they would not have escaped injury. The motorcycle plus the rider ran over bonnet (hood), and fell across the road about five meters from the point of impact.

My God took full control of the situation. I had minor shock, but Sylvia was greatly traumatized. Though she was not in car, she watched the drama live and she needed about 10 hours to get over it.

The local government leader of the area stepped in. He quickly moved the wreckage behind a building to avoid police attention. He organized hospital medical check up for us all. He later told me that he kept the police out because I was the one on the wrong, and police could have charged me with reckless driving, and probably could have cancelled my driving permit, along with hefty fines with a possibility of imprisonment. But during every thing, I had total peace being assured by the Holy Spirit that He was in control. The enemy wanted the blood shed but God had pity on me.

Finally, I want to thank you for praying with me. I got my visa and will be travelling to Switzerland on 8th September. I will be using Qatar Airlines with two nights in a hotel in Doha. I hope to be back on 16th September.
